Seaman, Camille (icebergs)

Camille Seaman is an award winning American photographer best known for her evocative Polar images.

Capturing the essence of awe and beauty of indigenous cultures and environments, in a sophisticated documentary/fine art tradition is her trademark. She has traveled to over 30 countries creating timeless images.

Seaman's career was launched when she traveled to the Arctic in 2003 taking stunning photographs of the little known island of Svalbard and its Arctic environment.

The "Last Iceberg" series documents the polar regions of our planet, their environments, life forms and history of human exploration. It has been said that "All things move toward their end", and icebergs give the impression of doing just that, in their individual way much as humans do. Some go the distance traveling for many years slowly being eroded by time and the elements; others get snagged on rocks and are whittled away by persistent currents. Still others collapse in fits of passion and fury. The "Last Iceberg" series chronicles a handful of icebergs that are headed to their end.
