Caponigro, Paul (landscape) Caponigro is internationally recognized as one of the most important landscape photographers in the history of the medium. His first one-man show was at the George Eastman House in 1958 at which time his reputation for uncompromising skill with the large-format camera was established.Caponigro was a student of Minor White and a young contemporary of west coast luminaries, Ansel Adams and Brett Weston. Caponigro's lasting contribution to photography is not limited to the rare and classical beauty of his compositions, but more importantly his un-paralleled ability to draw forth the "landscape behind the landscape" and engage the viewer in the mystical presence concealed in nature. |
