Cunningham, Imogen When Imogen Cunningham set up her Trust over 30 years ago, she requested that the organization “make prints available” in the highest possible quality to the art world and general consumer market. In an effort to honor this request, the Trust offers “ink in paper” prints. The prints are made from scans from the original negatives from Imogen’s photographic archives. After making a digital file of each image, a print is produced using Arches Hot Press paper and Epson black inks. The prints are made by Joshua Partridge, Imogen’s grandson, in his Berkeley studio. These prints have the “blind stamp”, Imogen’s Signature and Chinese chop which she chose to verify Imogen Cunningham Trust prints. The chop is composed of three Chinese characters representing the name Imogen phonetically, Im-o-gen. These Chinese characters translate into “ideas without end”. |
