O'Connor, Jeannie (architectual) Jeannie O'Connor studied painting at UC Berkeley, and then developed a passion for photography. In her black and white work, Jeannie prints an image on transparent film and then paints the reverse side of the film with acrylics. A second layer of chalk pastel is then placed beneath the film. "Jeannie O'Conner's work is equally painterly and photographic. By reconciling these two elements that seem mutually exclusive, O'Connor creates a body of work that is evocative, poignant, and extremely personal." - Nancy Kay Turner, Artweek Jeannie now works in color as well as black and white. Series from travels to the west and the east, as well as as macro photographs of Bay Area salvage yards, comprise her latest work. Jeannie's work has been exhibited in Italy and Germany and is in museum, university and corporate collections. |
